We will explore how literature circles and mentor texts create cultures of learning and conversation in classrooms K-12 (Lit Circle Focus grade 3-12). Our Lit Circle focus will explore how you can use novels to inspire students to love reading, discuss deep questions, and build empathy. Our focus on Mentor Texts will explore how Kids books aren't just for little kids anymore and provide excellent ways to activate students thinking, model excellent writing and inspire thinking and discussions. Participants are encouraged to bring their favourite Lit Circle Book (Or Classroom Novel) and/or Mentor Text (Children's Book) to share.
