During this workshop, I will be sharing the experience I had while I was helping in the ADST class. This will be demonstrated using the Sphero robot that we used in our grade 7 ADST class.
Developing students’ computational thinking involves more than teaching a programming language. Problem-solving and troubleshooting are important components of the curriculum. We used unplugged activities to help students develop computational thinking skills and to reduce their screen time. I will be including some unplugged concepts aligned with the Sphero demonstration in this workshop. Participants will come away from the workshop with some lesson plan ideas and some hands-on experiences using Sphero robots in ways appropriate to middle-school aged students.Â
The future technology of Industry 4.0 will challenge our students. I will be sharing some tech tools that helped us design some application projects for students so that they can understand how technology progresses. I will bring some some supplies which will limit number of participants to 15.
