Assessment is perhaps the most mystical part of our work as educators. How can we get inside a student's head to know what they know? To understand how they understand? In this session we will examine our beliefs about our students, about our role as teacher, and about what assessment is "for." We'll examine both what we say we believe as well as what our practices might reveal about what we *actually* believe. Further, we'll explore ways that we might work towards shrinking the gap between belief and practice with an eye toward bringing about flourishing in students and teachers alike.
