Most Christian schools recognize service as an important faith formational practice. However, how do Christian schools engage their students in service while still educating them? Service-learning is a promising model for Christian schools seeking to connect the learning in the classroom with service in the community. This workshop examines the elements that help make service learning influential in faith formation. Additionally, it highlights possible obstacles that impede schools from utilizing SL within their school. Finally, the workshop will provide strategies for implementing service learning in schools.
