Building Community Through Collaboration
Description

One way a community flourishes is through collaboration. In Ecclesiastes 4:8-10, Solomon provided a comparison between the individual who works alone and those who work collaboratively. Solomon’s contention was the individual who works in isolation never ceases in toil and is never satisfied with riches. Conversely, Solomon recognized when two work together, they will build each other up and there is reward for their labor. But how does that transfer to the middle and high school classroom? One of the 21st century learning skills for students is collaboration. However, some teachers struggle to design, implement, and facilitate authentic collaborative opportunities. This session will provide rationale and tools for designing and managing online collaborative opportunities and assessments in the middle and high school classroom.
